Artisan Made

Artisan community is the true backbone of our brand. We have an in-house team of more than 50 artisans including men& women currently working full time and we indirectly support more than 100 other artisans in various sectors. Our artisans devote countless hours, employing centuries-old techniques, to perfect each piece—offering you nothing less than the epitome of leather luxury. Drawing inspiration from timeless classics, we have reimagined traditional craft through a modern lens. Guided by four founding principles—functionality, aesthetics, craftsmanship, and vitality—we create leather bags and accessories that embody both contemporary elegance and enduring allure. Our commitment is to work only with tanneries where leather is sourced as a byproduct of the meat industry. No animals—endangered or otherwise—are ever reared solely for their hides. Much of the leather produced is often rejected for natural “imperfections” such as uneven tones, scars, or subtle variations. We believe these qualities add character and beauty beauty. By sourcing from surplus stocks and sample lots—hides already tanned but lying unused—we prevent wastage. This process is known as upcycling leather. Almost all the leathers we use are tanned with natural tannins and finished with vegetable dyes, ensuring an environmentally responsible process. Even our fabrics are crafted from 100% natural fibres, handloomed with love. Why focus on sustainability? Sustainability is not a choice—it is our way. Tuamia began as a dream to create pure leather accessories that are beautiful, functional, and enduring. With that dream came a responsibility—to make thoughtfully, and with respect. We do not mass-produce. We create with intention. One piece. One story. One legacy at a time. Anything is Possible. When it’s handmade, it can be made-to-order.
